Johanna grew up in the Bavarian Alps where she spent much of her time climbing trees and roaming the woods.  A graduate of Tufts University and the University of Maine, Johanna holds a Master’s degree in applied economics and one in global environmental policy.  She lives in Blue Hill and owns Compass Rose Books & Cafe in Castine.

Johanna’s areas of interest are economic valuation of environmental goods and services and community development. She is proud to serve as the BHHT’s treasurer.

She still likes to climb trees in her spare time, but can also be found sailing or paddleboarding around Blue Hill Bay.
