Sedgwick resident Sarah O’Malley teaches Ocean Science at Maine Maritime Academy and is a volunteer instructor with the Maine Master Naturalist Program. She produces “The World Around Us,” a science and nature short feature for WERU-FM Community Radio, and writes “Trees with the Fur On,” a trail running and living blog on the Bangor Daily News website. Her interest in local land conservation goes back to the days when she served on the board of the Conservation Trust of Brooksville, Castine, and Penobscot. Sarah is a lifelong resident of the Blue Hill Peninsula and is passionate about local food and agriculture, plants of all kinds, the intertidal zone and sharing natural history with people of all ages.
