Furth-Talalay trailhead Two Trails

This hike starts by following the ½ mile trail that starts at the Cross Road and then splits into two loops:

Follow the “Old Road” sign to the left to continue to the Furth Wildlife Sanctuary which is about a one mile loop. Here you will find active beaver habitat, young forest, a pretty old woods road and a cool brook.

To the right is the Talalay Nature Sanctuary which also has a one mile loop trail.

The Talalay trail winds through mossy old growth forest and white cedar swamp. The tall trees here are home to many nesting migratory song birds so be sure to bring your binoculars.
