Having recently visited Deer Isle, Goldstein experienced firsthand the area’s exceptionally dark skies.
The presentation explored how local conditions compare with other areas of Maine and the United States, highlighting the growing importance of reducing light pollution. Goldstein also demonstrated the incredible capabilities of modern observing technology and how advancements are making stargazing more accessible than ever.
The webinar offered an opportunity to appreciate the value of our region’s dark skies and consider how protecting them helps preserve a unique part of our natural environment.
