Located along the northern shore of Walker Pond in Brooksville, the Walker Pond Chapel Woods parcel protects 15 acres and approximately 1,700 feet of undeveloped shoreline. The property is adjacent to Camp Winniaugwamauk on Coastal Road and features mature white pine and red oak forest, wetlands, and beautiful views of Walker Pond.
Blue Hill Heritage Trust is actively working on establishing a trail system that will traverse through the property. The trail will wind through the mixed forest, skirting wetland areas, and lead to the water’s edge. Along the way, several thoughtfully placed lookout points will feature benches for rest and quiet enjoyment of the pond’s scenic beauty. The trail has been designed to accommodate light foot traffic and will be accessible from both the land and water. Visitors arriving by kayak or canoe will be able to connect with the trail, supporting low impact, non-motorized recreation.
