This October, we installed something special at Penny’s Preserve – a pet memorial post where people can hang the collars of beloved pets who enjoyed the preserve and hold a special place in their hearts.
Penny’s Preserve was generously donated to Blue Hill Heritage Trust for the community to enjoy by Rich and Aletha, and the preserve itself is named after their beloved dog, Penny. They came up with the idea of creating a memorial where others could remember their own pets who shared walks, adventures, and special moments at the preserve.
We love the idea that this little corner of the preserve can become a place filled with memories—not just of the people who have visited, but of the dogs who happily explored the trails alongside them.
Bringing the memorial to life was truly a team effort. A lot of thought, creativity, and hands-on work went into designing, building, and installing the post, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.
We hope it becomes a meaningful place to pause, remember, and celebrate the pets who brought so much joy to our lives – and who made the walks at Penny’s Preserve a little more special.
We invite you to come visit Penny’s Preserve, enjoy the trails, and take a moment to remember a beloved pet.
