Brooke MacDonald is a lifelong Mainer who first moved to the Downeast region in 1999. She fell deeply in love with the rugged coastline and has since devoted her professional life to environmental education and conservation in the area. Brooke received a B.A. in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic and an M.S. in Ecology in Environmental Sciences from the University of Maine. Before joining the Trust, Brooke worked as a program manager for conservation non-profit Maine Lakes (formerly Maine Lakes Society) and oversaw their large network of volunteers. She spent several seasons working as an education ranger for Acadia National Park and as an outdoor educator for the Schoodic Institute, where she developed and delivered educational programming for all ages. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys activities like hiking, bicycling, birdwatching, and skiing. She also loves crocheting, watercolor painting, and spending time with her husband Logan and dog Toby.
