George is a Mainer. They attended Blue Hill Consolidated School and George Stevens Academy. Their relationship started with BHHT as a summer intern in 2011. George attended Smith College to study Environmental Science, and Antioch University, where they earned their MBA in Sustainability.
George and Mary Alice Hurvitt Co-Founded the local food platform, farmdrop.org, that has spread to many communities across Maine. George is an ardent believer in local food and local dollars staying in a community as a measure of its economic health. Currently they own and run Waxwing, a business services company in downtown Blue Hill that provides small business help and expertise to other peninsula organizations.
