Merrin Brache, a former James W. Dow intern (2021), rejoined BHHT in 2023 as the Education & Outreach Coordinator. A native of the Blue Hill Peninsula with a long family history in the area, Merrin has always known that he wanted to work in conservation to help protect the woods, waters, and community of the place he calls home. Merrin has a BS from Prescott College in Arizona and an MS in environmental studies with an emphasis in conservation and sustainable community development. Merrin became a registered Maine recreational guide in the spring of 2024. Prior to working at BHHT, Merrin worked at a marine conservation research and education center in Sonora, Mexico and specialized in working with community sea turtle conservation groups. Merrin has also worked extensively as a stonemason and carpenter in the Blue Hill area. In his free time Merrin enjoys mountain biking, fishing, sailing and hiking on BHHT trails!
