Ruth grew up in the Mid-West, but spent her summers along the shores of Lake Sebago where she “fell” for Maine. Always interested in geology, she earned a BS in geology from University of Michigan and a MS from Indiana University.
After school she joined Chubb Insurance, holding several different positions over the years. Her work with Chubb allowed her to live in Chile for three years and travel the world which she continues to enjoy in retirement.
Ruth is particularly interested in native plants and their interplay with birds. She is a Board Member of Native Gardens of Blue Hill. In addition to hiking on the Peninsula, she can be found riding her horse or gardening in Brooksville.
